We focus on the practical aspects needed in a good pleasure.horse. We familiarize them with anything they may encounter on the trail. Our foals are imprinted at birth and trained with the natural horsemanship method. They are release on a 1200 acre ranch in Central Oregon for a few years. They become adept at traversing step country and water as well as getting along with other horses. We establish confidence and a desire to please. Fox trotters are smart and even tempered horses. They are noted for remaining calm and quiet when placed in a difficult situation.
Our horses like people. They are easy to catch and a pleasure to handle. We train them to stand quietly while grooming, shoeing, saddling and mounting. They are taught to load and tie. We also expose them to backpackers, bicycles, traffic, wild game, ropes and tarps. We have found fox trotters to be wonderful trail & hunting mounts due to their agility and endurance.
